The first pillar of Islam: The Kalimah

“LAA ILAAHA ILLALLAHU
MOHAMMEDUR RASOOLULLAH!”

Reciting this Kalimah is the most important part of being a Muslim.

It means "There is no god except Allah and Muhammand is the Prophet of Allah".

The Essence of Islami Faith
Eimaanal Mufassil:

AAAMANTHU BILLAHI VA MALAAYIKATHIHI VA KUTHUBIHI VA RUSULIHI VAL YAVMIL AAKHIRI VAL QADRI KHAIRIHI VA SHARRIHI  MINALLAHI THA AALAA
VAL BAA’SI BA’DAL MAVTH".

I accept, with my heart and soul, and  I hereby declare that

Allah is my Creator.
I affirm (the truth of) His Angels,
His Books of Revelation,
His Prophets and
the Day of Judgment (which will be by His Command).
I also affirm that everything good and evil is by fate as willed by Allah and
there is life after death.

Eimaanal Mujammil:

AAMANTHU BILLAHI KAMAA HUVA BI-ASMAAYIHI VA SIFAATHIHI VA QABILTHU JAMEE'I AHKAAMIHI".

I  accept and hereby declare, with my heart and soul,

ALLAH (as my Creator) with
His Glorious Names and
His Omnipotence (Allah has the Ultmate Power over everything)
and
I submit to, and abide by, all His Commands.

The Founts of Faith

All Muslims sincerely, consciously and wholeheartedly
imbue themselves with Solemn Faith.
This is cherished and vouchsafed by word of mouth
 in the Kalima's, declarations:

The First Kalimah: (Kalimaye Thai'yibah):

“LAA ILAAHA ILLALLAHU
MOHAMMEDUR RASOOLULLAH!”

"There is no god except Allah and Muhammand is the Prophet of Allah".

They undertake never to worship (nor even kneel down or prostrate before) any person, animal, statue, idol, portrait, symbol, grave or other object, living or dead.  Our Saj’dah, prostration, is due to Allah and to Allah only.

It is our sincere belief that the most exalted and the highest ranked human being in world history, is Syedina Mohammed S.A.W.S. S.A.W.S S.A.W.S..

The most prominent Arabs of the time had embraced Islam at his hands and they are referred to, in our history, as the Blessed Companions R.A.A. They had seen people of other faiths kneeling or even prostrating before their high priests. A discussion was going the rounds among them as to how best they could show their boundless love for, and devotion to, the Holy Prophet S.A.W.S..

One day they submitted their proposal to him that he might allow them and other Muslims to make Saj’dah to him.

Syedina Mohammed S.A.W.S. S.A.W.S S.A.W.S..  told them, “If it were possible for me to allow one human being to make Saj’dah to another, I would have asked the wife to prostrate before her husband.  But the Saj’dah is only to Allah and not to any one else.”
To equate anyone with Allah, is a deadly sin and is never forgiven by the Glorious Creator. The Holy Qur’an conveys a clear warning: “Allah forgives not that a partner should be ascribed unto Him. He forgives (all sins but this one, (the shir’k) to those who prove worthy of His Grace. Whoever ascribes partners to Allah, has indeed invented (a despicable lie) a grievous sin.”  (Surath an Nisaa: 48)

The Second Kalimah (the Kalimaye Shaha’dah)

We declare our faith from the depth of our hearts:

"ASH-HADU AN'LAA ILAAHA ILLALLAHU  VAH’DAHU,
LAA SHAREEKA LAHU, VA ASH-HADU ANNA
MOHAMMED S.A.W.SAN ABDUHU VA RASOOLUHU”.

“I bear witness that there is no god except Allah,

that He is the One and Only God and

none can be equated with Him, and

I bear witness that Mohammed S.A.W.S S.A.W.S. is

His slave and His Apostle”.

By this affirmation, we bind ourselves wholeheartedly to accept all the teachings in the Holy Qur'an and Hadith.

We also pledge ourselves to lead our lives in accordance with their commandments, reposing unflinching faith always in:

the Omnipotence of Allah,
the History of the Prophets sent by Allah to every nation on earth,
the  Revelations sent by Allah to His earlier prophets for their respective nations,
the existence of Allah's angels,
the certainty of Qiyamat (the Day of Judgment when the world and all cosmic  systems will end by Allah's command and Eternal Life will commence) and
Our Destiny is decided by Allah and it can be altered only by Him.

The Third Kalimah: (KalimayeTham'jeed):

"SUB'HAANALLAHI VAL HAMDULILLAHI VALAA ILAAHA ILLALLAHU VALLAHU AKBAR VALAA HAV'LA
VA LAA QUVVATHA ILLAA BILLAHIL ALEEYUL AZEEM".

“Immaculate is Allah
and
worthy of highest praise is Allah
and
there is none to be worshipped other than Allah
and
Allah is Supreme and the Greatest
and
it is from Allah that the inspiration to do good
and
the strength to resist evil are received”.

The Fourth Kalimah: (Kalimaye Thav'heed):

"LAA ILAAHA ILLALLAHU VAHDAHOO,
LAA SHAREEKA LAHOO,
LAHUL MULKU VALAHUL HAM'DU,
YUHEE VA YUMEETHU BI YADI'HIL KHAI'YR.
VA HUVA ALAA KULLI SHAI'YIN QADEER".

“There is no one deserving of worship other than Allah.

He is the One and Only Lord, no one can be His equal.

His is the Sovereignty over the worlds and

to Him is due all the highest praise.

He creates. He destroys.

In His Hand is all that is good and

He has Absolute Power over everything”.

The Fifth Kalimah: (Kalimaye Asthagh’far):

"AS'THAGH'FIRULLAHA RABBEE MIN KULLI ZAN'MBIN'V AZ'NAB'THUHOO AMADAN AV KHATHAA'AN SIRRAN AV ALAANIYATHAN'V VA ATHOOBU ILAI'YHI MINAZ ZAMBI ALLAZEE AALAMU VA MINAZ ZANMBILLAZEE LAA AALAMU INNAKA ANTHA ALLAAMUL GHU'YOOBI
VA SATHTHAARUL UYOOBI VA GHAFFARUZ ZUNOOBI
VA LAA HAV'LA VA LAA QUVVATHA ILLAA BILLAHIL ALEEYUL AZEEM".

“I seek pardon from Allah Who is my Creator,
for all the sins I have committed knowingly or unknowingly,
in secret or in the open.
And before His Magnificence I repent and regret my misdeeds,
Those  that  I remember and also those of which I have no knowledge.
Ya Allah, You Alone have Knowledge of the unseen and
You Alone do conceal our faults and forgive us our sin.
And from Allah is (received)  the will power to keep from sins and
(also) the inspiration to do good.
And Allah is the Highest and the Most Magnificent".

The Sixth Kalimah:  (Kalimaye Rad’d-e-Kuf'r):

"ALLAHUMMA INNEE A'OOZUBIKA MIN AN USH'RIKA
BIKA SHAI'YAN'V VA ANAA AALAMU BIHEE VAS'TAGH'FIRUKA LIMAA LAA AALAMU BIHEE
THUB'THU AN'HU VA THABARRA'ATHU MINAL KUF'RI
VASH SHIRKI VAL MA'AAASEE KULLIHAA
AS'LAMTHU VA AAMANTHU VA AKHOOLU
LAA ILAAHA ILLALLAHU MUHAMADUN'R RASOOLULLAHI".

"Ya Allah I seek refuge in You
from equating anyone with You consciously and
I seek pardon from You for any such act that I am not conscious of.
And I have repented (my past) and I have abandoned all disbelief,
all idolatorous thoughts and all sins (and wrongdoing).
"I surrender to Your Will and I have embraced Islam  and I declare that there is none worthy of being worshipped except Allah and that Mohammed Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam is Allah's Messenger".
